In recent years Israeli carrots have become very popular in Russia, Ukraine and European countries. This is due to unique combination of price, quality and fresh crop season. Carrot season in Israel starts at 3rd of December and continues till late Spring, right until the local carrot in Europe is big enough to be harvested.
Price-wise, Israeli carrot is competitive with Italian and Benelux produce, while by quality it breaks even or even surpasses them. There is also the benefit of freshness – the carrot is shipped shortly after it was picked up from the field and throughly cleaned.
Standard packing is 18 kg poly bag, while it’s possible to have any other type of packing as well. A 40′ reefer container is capable of transporting 28 tonnes of fresh carrots and reaches main European ports within 5 to 14 days.
